Sustainability Projects

Abel has introduced avocado cultivation at the Ban Dek Suk Jai Children's Hostel and in villages where he has planted churches. Avocados are sold to help support the orphanage. Families who are part of this project have a source of income. Depending on the variety, one avocado tree can provide over $500 annual income. He has also implemented a pig and buffalo breedng program. Families are given a pig or a buffalo to breed. Once they have 2 or 3 animals the project moves on to another family. Families can use the pigs and buffalos for food or to sell at market.
