Dear Ministry Partners and Friends,

Coach Suphan and the grade school team

We are excited to share an opportunity for your church to partner with us in the field this coming summer. In a collaborative ministry effort between Thailand Sustainable Ministries, San Pa Ha Christian Church, The Youth Development Foundation of Chiang Mai, and Lanna Theological Center, we are hosting an outreach Youth Soccer Camp in the San Sai district of Chiang Mai, Thailand, scheduled for July 15–23.

During the annual Buddhist Lent holiday, schools across Northern Thailand close, opening a unique window of opportunity. Hundreds of local boys and girls—ranging from grade school through high school—will be home on break. By partnering directly with local community  leaders and Bible college students from Lanna Theological Center, we are utilizing the universal language of soccer to connect with youth, build long-term relationships, teach sportsmanship, and share the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

Who We Are Looking For

We are assembling a team of coaches, mentors, and encouragement staff to serve alongside our Thai partners and Bible college students. Professional soccer coaching experience is not required. Just love working with youth.

Cost & Logistics

We have structured the ground logistics to make this outreach as accessible and straightforward as possible:

Includes: 8 nights of clean, secure lodging, all scheduled meals, ground transportation for all official camp sessions, admission for the full-day elephant sanctuary excursion, and Night Bazaar outings.
  • Airfare: Round-trip international flights to Chiang Mai (CNX) are not included. Flights departing from the U.S. Midwest typically average $1,300 – $1,600 for summer travel.
  • Total Estimated Trip Investment: Approximately $2,200 – $2,500 per person.

(Note: Ground fee does not include personal shopping, market snacks, or souvenirs.)

Next Steps & Building a Team

Youth from  sports outreach attend Sunday  service

Because summer international travel requires advance booking and ground accommodations must be reserved early, we are asking churches to gauge interest and confirm team commitments by March 1 2027.  A 50% deposit will be required by May 1st 2027 to reserve rooms and transportation.

We would love to set up a brief phone or video call with you, your missions committee, or your youth director to answer questions, share promotional materials, and discuss how your church can send a team—or join with individuals from other partner congregations.  Contact at dsfilbeck@yahoo.com.

Thank you for your ongoing heart for global missions and for investing in the next generation across Northern Thailand.

Warmly in Christ,

David Filbeck
