Dr. David and Sharon Filbeck

David's heart's desire is to equip and build up the church through leadership training and evangelism . As the son of missionary parents, Dr. David L. and Deloris Filbeck, he grew up in Lua and Northern Thai communities in Northern Thailand. While in Bible College in the USA he committed to missionary service in his birth country. Over the course of 33 years he was instrumental in establishing the Lanna Theological Center located in Chaing Mai.
Under David’s leadership LTC has trained and sent out hundreds of servant leaders throughout North Thailand and Laos. Sharon shared in this vision through teaching courses at LTC and developing family life seminars to encourage and strengthen families in church and communities. Currently David is developing sustainability projects that will empower churches and Christians to be an influence in their communities.

Evangelism:

David and Sharon are involved in a church planting endeavor in the small community of San Pa Ha, located a few miles outside of Chiang Mai, Thailand. David also assists the Lua Churches in Nan Province through consultation and leadership training, . The Lua people are the group that David’s parents came to serve in 1960.

Sustainability Projects:

David and Sharon are committed to developing indigenous churches that are spiritually and financially sustainable, who are self-supporting, self-governing and self-propagating
To this end in 2020 they added a sustainability component to their ministry. David has introduced cocoa cultivation to the San Pa Ha church. Through cultivation of cocoa the church can be self supporting financially in 5 years. David hopes to be able to introduce cocoa and other cash crops to other church communities in Chiang Mai and Nan provinces.
